Incident in New Baghdad

Friday, February 10, 6 pm, Tallgrass Film Screening

Incident in New Baghdad is a compelling film from New York filmmaker James Spione. It focuses on former U.S. Army Specialist and Wichitan Ethan McCord, the subject of a 2007 Wikileaks controversy, who witnessed one of the most notorious incidents of the Iraq War. McCord witnessed the July 2007 slayings of two Reuters journalists and a number of other unarmed civilians by U.S. attack helicopters. The film is an Oscar contender, having been short-listed for nomination for “Best Documentary (Short Subject)” at the 2012 Academy Awards. Post-screening includes an interview and reception with McCord and Spione. For details go to www.incidentinnewbaghdad.com. The Peace Center is proud to be a co-sponsor of this event.
